More fuel

Daily Draw: Witchlings, Manifestation

So I managed to manifest a sexist old snake today who tried to diminish my expertise and undermine my position. He told me there will have to be interviews for the leadership role to which I have already been assigned. Yet only last week he was arguing organisations should cut the XXXX (his swearword not mine) and adopt the Hollywood model of just hiring who they like (a system that systematically excludes women).

Funny the back flip into the need for a fair recruitment process when the shoe is on the other foot...Did someone write something about out of date old grey men running the world in their own interests?

It reminds me of something that Alison Pullen said about epistemic injustice which occurs when our knowledge is rejected because of who we are. Yet I'm feeling unusually irrepressible. It's all fuel for my research cauldron...

  1. This is outrageous. How dare they! Isn't this forbidden by law in the US? This kind of behavior puts us right back two centuries ago.
You brew your magic potion my dear and turn them into toads! Serves them right

    1. Yes illegal in UK (I forget I haven't told you where I am based). Turning into toads - not much work needed there :D

  2. I think when what is rotten (old, rigid mindsets) get dug up, they always release a big stink hoping it will run everyone off, and they can get back to what they think is normal. Keep smiling and stirring your cauldron. :D

    1. I actually had fun pushing back at the rotters yesterday. Still smiling (and stirring) :)

  3. So many fear change. I really think that the old men that have made up much of the rules the last 3000 years know they had it all wrong. Still entrenched in what they know they refuse to try something new. Look at the United States, elected a 70 year old man that absolutely personifies the old boys club, has surrounded himself with really old cronies. The world at large is afraid of change, the known although is not good, it is better than what is unknown...

    1. Fear is right - nothing more threatening than challenging how space is taken up as women do when they step into a role traditionally reserved for men.
