Daily Draw: Victorian Fairy Tarot: Ten of Spring
The fairies are in a frantic state of Spring fever rushing to complete all there is to be accomplished. Flowers to sell, music to play, pictures to paint, studies to write up...The guidebook warns that 'multitasking to the point where all pleasure is lost from even the most enjoyable pursuits leads to soul exhaustion' The message being don't let your blessings become burdens.
My first reaction is that this is an odd card for the beginning of the year. Yet if we see the ten as the culmination of Spring it makes more sense. While life seems like a clean slate now it will be very easy to allow projects to accumulate over the coming months so that they spill over into Summer. This reminds me of the need to set and maintain clear intentions for the Spring months.
To help maintain this I am going to use a list of 'Zen things' on Pinterest this morning. Here is an extract:
1. Do one thing at a time
2. Do it slowly and deliberately
3. Do it completely
4. Put space between things
Love this list! When I have a lot of tasks to do, I'm usually thinking about the next one while I'm doing the first one. But if I just attend to the task I hand, I find I am much more relaxed instead of stressed. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Glad you like it. I may post more extracts...one at a time...:)
ReplyDeletethese guys look like they just realized how many weeds there are in a garden
ReplyDeleteHaha - especially the two gents on the floor! :D
ReplyDeletePerfect list Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhen I feel like this, I always urge myself to move forward to the Ace again and start anew with one thing to focus on
That sounds like a really good approach - must try it! Your comment prompted me to look up the Ace of Spring which is one of the most beautifully simple cards in the deck. I'll post above for contrast.
ReplyDeletethat's quite a difference! :)
DeleteI know - something to help me keep in mind your approach!
DeleteThat many fairies gathered together can only be mischief in the making.
ReplyDeleteHmm another layer of meaning thank you! Being amongst all that could be quite distracting and disorientating for an unwitting passer by with an innocent desire to help. Your comment alerts me that it does look a little 'stage managed'
