Daily Draw: Earthly Souls and Spirits Oracle, Focus
Just as this girl and the bird gaze at the roses sometimes when we focus on what is going well, on what is lovely everything else falls into place. If not at least we will have had a few moments of joy.
We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses. Alphonse Karr, 1808-1890
I just sent a text to some ladies I mentor with the question, "What story has you hooked that hasn't even happened yet?" (As in what fear are you focused on that hasn't even happened, but you are living like it is real.) What we focus on has a huge influence on our quality of life!
ReplyDeleteGood question. I think I've been living like that on and off these past few weeks. Today I'm giving myself a day off...
DeletePS Good Morning! You're up and online early!
Delete:) A combination of insomnia and my four-footed alarm clocks!
DeleteThis way of looking at life will brighten up even the darkest of days! Thanks for sharing this beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteI think it can. I've just noticed the rose in the card is a 'blue' rose which suggests it isn't always easy. We have to reach for it...
Deletethis card makes me think of the little girl who sold matches? flowers? ribbons? in the snow, right up to the time she froze to death
ReplyDeleteOr maybe I'm just cold this mornning
The little match girl? A haunting tale....Hope you've managed to warm up.
DeleteThe pictorial has a feel of All Hallows Eve. Roses for remembering those who have moved on from this place to the next.
ReplyDelete"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary...Quoth the Raven, Nevermore..."
Lovely interpretation, spine tingling poem. I don't think I've read it before...thanks for sharing
