Plenty to go around

Daily Draw: Tarot of the Hidden Realm, Six of Pentacles

I was going to photograph this with an apple from the tree except there are none. The birds ate them. To be fair they have been very well behaved up to now. For years we have allowed the apples to grow large and fall without harvesting them. I can understand why this year the birds thought 'well what the hey' and gobbled them up. I don't mind. This card lets us know there is plenty to go around. If we have something to spare it is good to share. Whether giver or receiver or both (as is often the case) all involved get to feel good.

  1. You have an apple tree? How cool. They don't do well in our heat and humidity here (where fig and pear trees are planted). How nice to share its fruits with the birds! In the words of Aesop, "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."

  2. Yes we have a (usually abundant) apple, an improving cherry and a fig and plum equal in their recalcitrance. I can imagine the joy on K's face if we ever achieve just one fig :) the plant that has defeated the birds is the blackberry bush. There are up to 30 of them going in daily but they can't get through it :D
Great quote by Aesop thanks for sharing

    1. I can imagine what a joy it is to see those beautiful creatures. Over here they are mostly confined to the grounds of stately homes and a few parks.

  4. Soon the Season of Summer will give way to Autumn and fresh crisp apples ready for picking. I grew up a bit over a hundred miles north of where I now call home. As children we loved to climb apple trees to get the best at the top. They were always seemed a bit sweeter. Either the challenge of the climb or more sun exposure.

  5. We don't have apples this year either. The frost has damaged most the blossoms and what was left was eaten by aphids. Somehow I'd rather share my harvest with birds than with aphids :)
